Energy Performance and Emissions

We are guided by International Energy Agency (IEA) Guidelines for Net-Zero Carbon Emissions. The IEA has four key recommendations for reducing the energy intensity of mining operations and minimizing greenhouse gas emissions.

1. Improving energy efficiency through investment in energy-efficient technologies, such as advanced monitoring and control systems, to reduce the amount of energy required for mining operations.
2. Switching to renewable energy sources  such as solar, wind, or hydropower to power operations and reduce the carbon footprint.
3. Using electric vehicles which are more energy-efficient and emit fewer greenhouse gases.
4. Reducing waste and improve environmental impact through various measures, including recycling and reusing materials, reducing the use of water, and implementing more efficient production processes.

Community

Community and Cultural Respect

Ensure community participation and consultation regarding mine plans and operations. Constantly monitor operations to identify and address any issues that may affect the environment or the community. Where possible, and practical, we aim to hire and train local people.

We only engage with suppliers whose ES and G values align with ours.
